Hi! I'm Leah, this is my artist page where I can show my viewers a taste of what I do, what I'm currently up to and what new and exciting things are coming up for me and my followers. 

To start, I am 26, I graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2013 with a certificate in Painting & Drawing and a Diploma in Visual and Creative Arts. I have been "doing my own thing" (owned my own business) since I was 17 doing commissions. My first solo exhibition was in my last year of high school at Oliver's cafe. 

After travelling around the world for a bit, I began to define my passion- painting to embody and create a window for viewers to catch a glimpse of the things I've seen and experienced. 

"Eyes are the window to the soul" - William Shakespeare... For me, that's mostly what drives my work- uncovering those windows. The difficulty between the visual representation and verbal explanation is what I try to eliminate by replicating and enhancing the expressions and body language of my subjects.

I am married to the man of my dreams, with two beautiful children we adore. I have recently begun a new career path- one that is much more focused on what makes me come alive. That's why I specialize in portraiture- as I watch my drawings and paintings come to life, I too feel like I'm simply getting the oxygen I need to breathe. In that same breath though, choosing to dive head first into being a stay-at-home-mom & an artist, I'm quickly finding that the direction of said art business seems to be somewhat evolving. I am currently exploring what this looks like for me, and I invite you to join me here on my exciting journey!
